The webcast for the February 2009 concert Contemporary A Cappella Scandinavian Choral Works at Trinity Wall Street New York City has been archived on their website. It was a great honor for me to have been invited to join the wonderful Trinity Choir for this concert.
In addition to singing with the Choir, I perform the opening solo in the second piece of the concert, Lars Edlund’s Gloria. This solo was written using 1/4 tone tunings as part of the vocal line; the composer’s intention was to create a sense of walking through a large church with many different sounds coming from many different places in the building. You may also notice that I’m hitting my head with a piece of metal; this is a tuning fork and is assisting me to stay on pitch. I’m hitting it on my head simply out of convenience.
