If you know about RSS readers, or you are already an RSS user, you can link to my feeds by using one or both of the RSS logos at the top of each page (blog posts and upcoming shows are split into two different feeds).

RSS Explained:
My site has two RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feed addresses, which allow you to be alerted when a new blog post or upcoming concert is published here. RSS is not a service you sign up for, and you don’t have to pay anything or give anyone your email address or even your name.

Most sites that change their content often (like news sites or blogs) have an RSS feed. To see when an RSS-enabled site has new content, you subscribe to their feed either with your web browser or a specific feed program. This is all free of charge.

One example of an RSS reader is the Firefox feature called “Live Bookmarks”. This allows you to follow a feed from your bookmarks bar. The bookmark will drop down as a list of articles when clicked. Information on this feature can be found here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Live_Bookmarks_-_Firefox

There are also RSS widgets for your computer’s desktop, and services (also free) like Google Reader. An extensive aticle on this subect can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS. One thing that RSS does not do is alert you to general site content changes; it only shows you new (and previously read) posts that I publish on my blog. My periodic newsletter will have site update information.

The webcast for the February 2009 concert Contemporary A Cappella Scandinavian Choral Works at Trinity Wall Street New York City has been archived on their website. It was a great honor for me to have been invited to join the wonderful Trinity Choir for this concert.

In addition to singing with the Choir, I perform the opening solo in the second piece of the concert, Lars Edlund’s Gloria. This solo was written using 1/4 tone tunings as part of the vocal line; the composer’s intention was to create a sense of walking through a large church with many different sounds coming from many different places in the building. You may also notice that I’m hitting my head with a piece of metal; this is a tuning fork and is assisting me to stay on pitch. I’m hitting it on my head simply out of convenience.

The solo begins after 8 minutes and 45 seconds into the webcast. The stream is here:
